I grew up in an Islamic country on the other side of the world, where churches were a rarity. In-fact, Bible studies among nuclear families was the closest experience I had to a Sunday service. After settling in India and being welcomed into City Harvest as part of the choir, it has become my second home. I would always look forward to meeting with other singers and musicians. Indulge in practice for hours, and meticulously ensure the balance of the Word and worship.
The church members are no longer strangers or mere acquaintances. The Bible studies and Care cells have emboldened my belief that church is not just on a Sunday. It’s anywhere and anytime the body of Christ comes together to fellowship. To praise the Holy One of Israel. Since the lock down, our movements have become restricted to the confines of our houses. I am thankful for the use of technology that bring people together, through social media and video conferencing apps. However, nothing can beat the camaraderie felt with personal fellowship. And THAT is what I look forward to.
